Oceania TT Championships

Good to be back racing again and step onto the podium at the Oceania 40km Time Trial Championships in Canberra on Thursday with 3rd place. Had a small technical issue with a slipping seatpost, but the engine is definitely firing again which is a confidence booster going into the Tour of Taiwan this week. Oceania's was also the first official outing in the New Zealand TT champ speedsuit produced by Champion System.... I can confirm the new suit is fast!

When my new personal sponsor CeramicSpeed sent through all the data sheets on the gains from equipping my bikes with coated CeramicSpeed bearings I was super excited as those precious seconds count for a lot in the race of truth (and road races). The bearings weren't quite ready in time for Oceania's or Taiwan, but as soon as I'm back in New Zealand at the end of this month the team at Armstrong Sport will be installing the new bottom brackets, wheel and pulley bearings on all my team bikes so that's something to look forward too.

Back to racing... just finished the second stage here in Taiwan today and Genesys team mate Nathan Earle is on fire taking the stage win by kicking clear in the last 300m of the Cat 2 climb. Nathan is now leading the KOM competition and sits second on GC so I'll be in a team support role doing my best to keep Nathan out of the wind and in good position for the rest of the Tour.

Better go, dinner is calling...

JC.
