Tour of Wellington

JC KOM

Winning the king of the mountains jersey at the Trusthouse tour today was a great way to end the NZ summer campaign before heading to France and beginning the next journey in my cycling career.

What a blast the tour was with all the local support. The number of people cheering "GO JC!" on the roadside was amazing and I've got to tell you, those cheers help a lot when your heart, legs and lungs feel like they're all going to implode. It really helps you get through it.

A few very easy days on the bike are needed between now and next weekend when I fly out to Europe.

A big thank you to all my sponsors and their support. Much appreciated.

Stage win at Tour de Vineyards

Picked up a nice stage win down at the Tour de Vineyards on Monday. Really pleased to come away from the tour with something after puncturing on stage two up Takaka Hill which put an end to any GC aspirations.

My Mico team mate Jeremy Yates was aggressive throughout the race. He was rewarded for his efforts taking the final stage around the Hill St circuit.

Great to see Andy Hagan take the overall GC win too. Impressive ride by Andy and the Wheelworks team.

Back in Christchurch now resting up for Elite Nationals on Sunday. Until then.
