Mavic Zxellium Shoe Review

Mavic Zxellium A

After many years of wearing Shimano shoes I was looking forward to the arrival of the new Mavic Zxellium shoes from my sponsor Armstrong Sport. Having worn the same type of shoe for such a long time I was slightly nervous about how they were going to be and it's fair to say that after wearing them for the last 6 weeks I have been impressed.

Mavic Zxellium B

Picking them up they are super light and well padded through out the heel, sides and tongue which is integrated into the inner of the shoe making them really comfortable.

Three straps allow the shoes to be done up so they fit like a glove – this in itself would have been enough for me as there is nothing worse than a shoe that lacks comfort when you spend so many hours in them BUT it gets better – they are unbelievably stiff and in the black, white and yellow they look hot!
Its hard to believe that a shoe could get much better than this so it will be interesting to see what the Zxellium Ultimate has to offer in the near future as these tick all the boxes for me... light, super comfortable and unbelievably stiff.

I give the Zxellium slippers (on the JC rating scale of 1 - 10) a 9.5. I'm keeping the extra 0.5 up my sleeve for the all singing and dancing Ultimate version of these bad boys. In short there's nothing not to like about the Zxellium's and at an RRP of $489 they're good value for money for a PRO level shoe.

Don't take my word for it, go buy a pair today!
